'Leverage': Christian Kane And John Schneider Act, Sing And Count It Out
Christian Kane is carrying a garland of dreams come loyal with this Sunday's (July 18) partial of TNT's hop fool around "Leverage," called "The Studio Job," destined by former "Star Trek: The Next Generation" star
Jonathan Frakes.
First up, Kane gets to sing "Thinking of You," an strange strain he co-wrote, when his character, cocky difficult guy Eliot Spencer, goes clandestine as a nation crooner to take down a hurtful jot down executive.
"Just similar to each singular one of my songs," Kane says, "it's about a girl. I do not know if I could write songs if it wasn't for the womanlike race, to be honest with you.
"It's one of those songs, it's only a honeyed small good-bye kiss, but it's got a pat on the boundary as you go."
Kane additionally gets to traffic blows with a statue of his youth, given "Dukes of Hazzard" star
John Schneider plays the exec in question.
"As a five-year-old kid," says Kane, "I used to sit in front of the TV -- I never longed for 'Dukes of Hazzard,' not once. It was me and my dad's show. We'd watch it. Schneider's my childhood idol. Who didn't wish to be Bo Duke?
"I got to end up fighting my childhood idol, and there's not a lot of people in the universe -- very, really few, if any at all -- which can say, after in life, which they got to quarrel their childhood idol. It's only an extraordinary knowledge for me."
Like Kane, who additionally fronts his own rope -- called, unsurprisingly, Kane -- Schneider balances his behaving career with a second, low-pitched job in Nashville.
"He does a lot of nation music, man," says Kane. "I was articulate to my beloved friend,
Chuck Goff, he's
Toby Keith's drum player. He was like, 'Hey, listen, man, for the initial two years of Toby Keith, we lonesome 5 John Schneider songs.' I'm like, 'You're teasing me!' He's like, 'No, no.'
"First of all, Schneider used to live with
Johnny Cash. He wears Johnny Cash's jacket, which he gave him, on our show. He toured with
Waylon Jennings and
George Strait. I gotta be honest with you, I didn't comprehend until we were filming how big of a nation thespian John Schneider is."
Knowing this done it all the some-more special when Schneider had to sing in the partial as well.
"John Schneider sang my strain on the show," Kane says. "We both kind of sing it. It was extraordinary to have somebody of which caliber, one of my childhood idols, singing my strain on the show. It's not a duet. You have to watch it. I can't insist it to you. Listen, I'm not vouchsafing the cat out of the bag.
"It's an respect for us to traffic punches, and afterwards for him to sing my strain and come onto 'Leverage.' What do you say about that? I'm essentially at a detriment for difference right now, and you know me, I'm customarily not."
The two additionally connected during filming by personification golf together, and Kane hopes which personal tie continues.
"I'd positively adore it if we could do [recording or songwriting]," Kane says. "He's still really good reputable in the strain attention and Nashville. Everybody only loves the guy. We'd substantially have to write it on the golf course, but we'd do it."
Fans who knew Schneider as Bo Duke or as honest Super-dad Jonathan Kent on "Smallville" may see a opposite side of him on "Leverage."
"You do not see John Schneider as the bad guy," Kane says, "and he's the bad guy. I was thinking, 'How is he starting to fool around this?' I proposed watching, and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, he nailed it.'"
As far as Kane's own low-pitched career, he not long ago expelled a five-song EP, with a full manuscript on the way. The initial single, "The House Rules," is due out in September.
Also in the tube is a video for the single, destined by nothing alternative than "Leverage" star
Tim Hutton (and featuring a guest coming by "Leverage" unchanging
Aldis Hodge). At slightest partial of the video was filmed on Jun 12 at Dante's, a bar in Portland, Ore., the city where "Leverage" is filmed.
"A lot of people do not know which Tim destined 'Drive,' by The Cars," says Kane. "I told him about a concept, and he discriminating it up. He destined the video, and Tim's son,
Noah Hutton, essentially cut the video. I only showed it to a little guys at CMT, and they adore it. We're on our way."

Dude, this guy is beast. I still hated that crap they pulled on Angel where they shot him even though he was fighting for them. Joss Whedon is a bad writer. Needs his ass kicked, Whedon does.
